Seeing The Next Challenge

One game that received bad critics, but wich I love is Final Fantasy XIII.
There is one particular thing that I like about this game that I want to share.
It was the first JRPG game I played, so to me it was a new world opening up.

There is a huge dinosaur-like monster that is almost impossible to kill.
You can run through its legs without engaging it into battle.
It kills you instantly by using its foot to create mini earthquakes.
It took me very long time before I was strong enough to face it,
even then I tried many times and lost battles lasting an hour.

In real life, there are things that are much, much more powerful than you are.
For example, the ocean is a dangerous place if you can not swim.
Luckily there are places you can learn to swim without drowning.
These are called "beaches".
Use them and one day you will be capable of swimming in the middle of the ocean.

When you see a challenge ahead of you with some room of improvement, you get motivated.
You have a purpose, a future where you see yourself as strong and heroic.

It is a difference between seeing yourself that way and being it.
The path to great challenges are not straight ahead by jumping into it.

What I like about Final Fantasy XIII is: You see the challenge ahead of you and know the path.
The challenge is not the path, those are two different things.

The path is what you have to do in order to face a challenge.
The challenge is what you want to do.
